Octuo — your personal operating system
An AI assistant on your Mac that puts your AI tools, programs and agents to work. It hands coding tasks to the Claude Code and Codex already on your Mac, works in your browser and files, runs jobs on a schedule and keeps going until the work is done.

Three things to try in your first ten minutes
Install Octuo, sign in and grant the permissions macOS asks for. Then:
Hand off a coding task
Have Claude Code or Codex installed and signed in on your Mac? Ask Octuo to fix a bug or write a script. It runs the CLI under your own account, tracks the run and shows you the result in the same conversation.
Build a small app by describing it
Ask for a habit tracker or a launch checklist. Octuo builds it on Canvas, and you can click it, edit it and keep using it.
Set up a recurring job or a watch
Ask for a morning summary, or ask Octuo to watch a page for changes. It runs on its own and pings you only when there's something to see.
How Octuo works for you
Hand work to the right agent
Octuo runs the Claude Code and Codex CLIs already installed and signed in on your Mac, and hands work to MCP tools. It carries the context each task needs, tracks every run and brings the results back into one conversation.
Claude Code and Codex run under your own accounts and each service's terms, and are billed by their providers, separately from Octuo.
Tasks that keep going
Long, multi-step jobs don't stop when the chat closes. Octuo picks the work back up, finishes it and reports back. Schedules and condition watches run on their own, and anything that needs your decision lands in Attention.
Mini-apps on Canvas
Describe a small app, such as a tracker, a checklist or a dashboard, and Octuo builds it on Canvas: interactive, clickable and yours to keep. Octuo can see and edit the Canvas too, so you work together beyond the chat box.
Memory you can see. Credentials it can't.
Everything Octuo remembers is a graph you can browse, edit or tell it to forget. Passwords and API keys live in an encrypted Secrets Vault: the language model never sees raw credentials, and every use is written to an audit log.

Questions, answered
What does Octuo actually do?
Octuo is an AI assistant that runs on your Mac and puts your other AI tools, programs and agents to work. You tell it the goal; it hands the right parts to tools like Claude Code, Codex or MCP tools, works in your browser and files, keeps long jobs going and reports back.
What do I need to run Octuo for Mac?
A Mac with at least 8 GB of memory (16 GB recommended) and an internet connection. Octuo for Mac is a signed and notarized download that runs on macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs (one universal build). The Download page shows the exact requirements of the current release.
How much does Octuo cost?
Octuo is a paid, credit-based product. Plans start at $20 USD a month, and credit packs are there when you need more. Every turn shows its cost before it runs and reports it after.
See pricingDo I need Claude Code or Codex?
No. Octuo works on its own with models from several providers, and you choose which to use. If you already use Claude Code or Codex, Octuo runs the CLIs installed and signed in on your Mac, under your own accounts and each service's terms, and it can hand work to MCP tools too. Those subscriptions are billed by their providers, separately from Octuo.
What data goes where?
Most model calls go to cloud-hosted models, so the parts of a task a model needs are sent to the provider that runs it. Credentials you keep in the encrypted Secrets Vault are never shown to the language model, and every use is logged. On first launch macOS asks you to grant Screen Recording and Accessibility, which let Octuo see the screen and act for you; you stay in control of those permissions. Our Privacy Policy and AI Disclosure have the details.
Does work stop when I close the chat?
No. Long, multi-step jobs keep going after the chat closes. Octuo picks the work back up, finishes it and lets you know in Attention when it's done or needs a decision.
Can I see what Octuo remembers?
Yes. The memory module on Canvas lets you view and manage the memory available to your agent: browse it, edit it or tell Octuo to forget something.
Claude Code is a product of Anthropic and Codex is a product of OpenAI. They are named as examples of tools Octuo can hand work to; Octuo is not affiliated with or endorsed by either company.
